Should I Stay or Should I Go?
Is it time to love your home again, or is it time for something new?
Sometimes you don't hate your house.
You just know something isn't working anymore.
Maybe the kids are gone and you're maintaining rooms nobody uses. Maybe you've outgrown the layout. Maybe you're dreaming about less maintenance, a different neighborhood, a pool, a condo near the beach, or simply a home that fits the way you live now.
Or maybe moving sounds exhausting and what your house really needs is a fresh set of eyes.
Before you start scrolling listings or calling contractors, answer these six questions.
1. Does your home still fit the way you live?
A. Not really. My lifestyle has changed, but my house hasn't.
B. Mostly. There are just a few things that aren't working anymore.
C. I'm not sure. I know something feels off, but I can't quite identify it.
2. If you could magically change one thing about your home tomorrow, what would it be?
A. Something I can't easily change, like the location, lot, size or basic layout.
B. Something fixable, like the kitchen, finishes, furniture, paint or outdoor space.
C. I honestly don't know where I'd start.
3. How do you feel about the amount of home you're maintaining?
A. It's too much, too little, or simply doesn't make sense for my life anymore.
B. The size still works well for me.
C. I'm beginning to wonder whether I need all of this.
4. Imagine your home beautifully updated and exactly the way you want it. Would you still want to live there?
A. Probably not.
B. Absolutely.
C. That's the question I can't answer.
This one matters.
If the dream renovation still doesn't solve the real problem, the problem may not be the countertops.
5. What sounds more exciting to you right now?
A. Finding a home that fits my next chapter.
B. Transforming this home into one I love again.
C. Understanding what each option would cost before deciding.
6. If you knew the numbers today, would that make this decision easier?
A. Yes. I want to know what my home could realistically sell for and what my next move could look like.
B. Yes. I want to compare the cost of improving this home with the cost of moving.
C. YES. I need facts before I'm making any big decisions.
So...Should You Stay or Should You Go?
Mostly A's: It May Be Time to Go
Your answers suggest that the things frustrating you most may not be solved with new paint and prettier furniture.
Your life has changed. Your home hasn't.
Before making any decision, I'd start by understanding what your current home could realistically sell for, what moving would cost, and what your next home would need to give you that this one doesn't.

Mostly B's: You May Want to Stay
There's still a lot you love about your home.
And if your biggest frustrations are things we can actually change, selling may not be the first answer.
Sometimes thoughtful updates, better use of the space, new finishes or simply seeing your home differently can completely change the way it feels.

Mostly C's: Don't Decide Yet
This might actually be my favorite result.
You don't need someone telling you to sell your house.
You need information.
What could your home sell for? What would it cost to make the changes you want? What could you buy instead? And which option makes the most sense for the life you're trying to create?
Get those answers first.
Then decide.
→ Let's Look at Both Options
Your Home Should Fit Your Life
I don't believe the answer is always “sell.”
Sometimes the smartest move is selling and finding something that fits your life better.
Sometimes it's staying exactly where you are and making your current home work beautifully again.
And sometimes you simply need someone to help you look at the house, the market, the numbers and the possibilities before you know.
That's where I come in.
